Built in Pune. For the riders keeping Pune moving.
BatteryPool started from a frustration every delivery operator in the city knows. Riders burning an hour at a charger during the lunch rush. Batteries dying mid-route. Fleet managers unable to see where the problem was. We built the infrastructure to fix it.
The problem was visible from 6 AM
Ashwin spent two years managing software for an EV logistics operator before starting BatteryPool. Every morning he watched riders queue at a bank of chargers. The queues grew as the fleet grew. More EVs meant more wait, not less.
The fix was not faster chargers. It was removing charging from the equation entirely. A pool of managed batteries, pre-charged overnight, positioned at stations across the delivery corridors before the shift started. The rider arrives, swaps in 90 seconds, and earns. No wait, no range anxiety, no overnight charging at home.
The first BatteryPool station went live in Baner in late 2023. Through the pilot phase spanning Q4 2025 to Q1 2026, the network expanded to four corridors, and the fleets enrolled in the program reported near-zero missed shifts attributable to battery unavailability.
How we think about the work
Infrastructure over apps
Software is easy to copy. A physical network of charged packs, sited at the right locations, is not. We invest in the hard infrastructure first.
Rider income over rider technology
Every minute a rider spends not earning is a problem we own. Uptime is not a metric for our board. It is a promise to the people who depend on us every day.
Data-guided operations
Every swap is a data point. The demand model improves weekly. Station placement decisions are made from heat maps, not intuition or real-estate availability.
The people behind the network
Small team. Deep experience in EV operations, battery systems, and high-frequency logistics platforms.
Led operations and fleet-technology integrations at a high-volume EV logistics company before co-founding BatteryPool. Focused on network expansion strategy and key fleet partnerships.
Built real-time data pipelines and ML inference systems at a large-scale ride-hailing platform before joining BatteryPool. Leads the AI dispatch engine, battery health scoring, and fleet platform development.
Managed station deployment and overnight restock logistics for an energy distribution company across multiple cities before BatteryPool. Owns network uptime, station maintenance, and the nightly restock run.
Working on EV infrastructure in India? So are we.
We are looking for fleet partners, hardware partners, and people who want to work on a physical-meets-software infrastructure problem that matters.
